If I were a beach person, this would be a great beach read. Fast moving and entertaining. The mystery was compelling but the protagonist is what will keep this series going. Lorna Long's journey toward management of her psychic gifts makes this story a page-turner. There hasn't been such a complex character in mystery in a long time. Loved all the characters, actually - Lorna's husband and her psychic mentor are equally well-done.Can't wait for the next book!

Really great READ!!!!! This book (and I assume the ones that follow in the series) are unique in that they are a great mix of Native American and Celtic Folklore while at the same time bringing in modern issues to the text. If you are at all interested in murder mysteries, then this is the book for you!!!!
This book was definitely fun to read. Although I like dogs, I do not have one. Now I will always look at dogs with a new perspective.
A fun and compelling mystery/thriller. Kept me guessing. Loved the characters and small town location. I'll look forward to the follow up of the main character's quest.
If you are a fan of Tony Hillerman, like me, you will enjoy Miki Cutlers "Shoe Thief." Set in the Southwest, the plot pairs a young woman with psychic abilities with great dogs to solve a murder case. Enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next in series.
Great book! A fun, easy, read with all of my favorites – the Southwest, Native Americans, mystery and of course dogs. Dog lovers everywhere will appreciate that Ms. Cutler not only speaks to dogs, but gives them a voice as well. I’m excited to read the next Lorna Long adventure…hope it’s soon! Liz Acosta
