I'd like to start off by saying that if you're not yet familiar with Ryllann and Wren, then you should read A Raucous Time by Julia Hughes, and then continue on to A Ripple in Time - Angel of the Titanic. Now, on to the topic at hand...A Ripple in Time starts almost 5 years after A Raucous Time. By a strange sequence of events, Wren dreams of the Titanic. 100 years in the past, a young lady named Carina (a passenger on the Titanic) connects with his dream and foresees the tragic end to her voyage. She manages to warn the crew and the course of history is altered. "HMS Titanic steamed safely into New York Harbour." The world that was is no more.
In the new altered reality, life is different. World War I never ended, because the United States did not enter the conflict. The Great War as it is known rages on, with neither side ever having enough of an advantage to end it. Life is different, centered around conflict. Technology is not as advanced, and Europe has little connection with the rest of the world.
Wren finds himself in the new reality, with full knowledge of his life before. He instinctively knows what happened. Wren is a very intelligent young man, and he often seems to knows things he shouldn't. No real explanation is ever given for this tendency, leaving the reader to assume Wren can read minds or has some other psychic ability. Wren must convince his cousin Rhyllann 1st) who he is - since Wren died years ago in this alternate reality and 2nd) that Ryllann must help him restore a world that Rhyllann doesn't know. Wren also seeks help from Carrie, who happens to be the great-great-granddaughter of Carina.
A Ripple in Time blends history with myth and imagination. Wren, Rhyllann and Carrie face the moral dilemma of knowing their goal to 'right' the world means many people will die. The journey they take is full of both adventure and romance. I enjoyed the creativity of the story, and would like to know what Julia Hughes has planned next.

This was an interesting and enjoyable read for anyone who likes "what could have been" type stories. If you enjoy history, you'll find many examples of seemingly small events having profound impacts on the future course of events.
This story considers how history may have been radically changed it the Titanic had missed or survived the impact with the iceberg.
The story was a success in that it held my interest and kept me anxious to learn what happens next but, I often felt the author missed opportunities to reach higher levels of tension and excitement. Granted, it's probably not wise to startle or shock your audience too much but this felt somewhat predictable and the ending a bit to easy. I would have been more satisfied if it worked out the same way but after more of a struggle.

World War I. is known only as World War and it lasts for more than a hundred years. All this because of a strange connection of two people living in different time has.
Wren - living in present time - and Carina - who was on her way to America on Titanic - connects and actions Wren does 1912 prevent the famous ship to sink, but that also completely change the the future.
Welcome to the 21st century of an alternative future...
So what would you do if you find yourself in a future that is so wrong and you know you have to make sure that a world well known disaster,must happen, yet you know that if you do it, you indanger the love of your life?
That's the question Wren faces in the alternative future and only if he succeded to make all wrong right again, he might save the world and the love of his life.
But will he do it?
I loved the book. It is a great sequal to a A Raucous Time in The Celtic Cousins' Adventures Series... And you defenitely won't regret if you read it.
What I liked best As always, the Celtic Cousins! I love Rhyllann and Wren. These two are great. It was especially interesting to see them in the dystopian setting a world where World War I never ended. I also really, really enjoyed the addition of Carrie to the cast.
What missed a bit The only miss for me was that I felt like Wren was a bit absent from the story for periods of time. I understand this is due to the story line and events, but I so enjoy him that it missed just a bit for me.
Overall Very good! I love the Celtic Cousins and was very pleased with this book. I love the setting and Ms. Hughes does a wonderful job of making us feel like we are there. The Titanic aspect was particularly fun too. Everyone loves things involving the Titanic. If you haven't yet met the Celtic Cousins, I suggest you do. Be sure to pick up A Raucous Time as well.

To me this story is like a paranormal time-travel historical fiction.
The story picks up five years after 'A Raucous Time' when Wren and Rhyllann are on their own. Wren goes traveling to their place in Wales where the ride lulls him into dreamland. Inadvertently his dreams of the Titanic are meshed with a passenger of that ill-fated ship. This changes life as Wren knows it. Now he is in a battle to get back to where he belongs. Will things get back to normal or will he and his cousin be doomed to a time when young men are conscripted to serve their country?
I really enjoyed this story, it was difficult to put down. I loved how the author gave just enough details to show the different time periods allowing the reader some room to fill in the gaps. Ms. Hughes also gave a plausible way for the time-traveling to occur.
Warning This is for people mature enough to deal with adult language, sexual situations, and violence.
