Written around 100 years ago, this is a nice summary of the formation of the British Empire. It starts in the Middle Ages and continues on to just after the World War (WWI to us). I found quite a lot I did not know in this, and if you have any interest in how the world developed, knowing about the British Empire is a good idea.Some of the language won't go over as well in the 21st Century, but remember when it was written.
